Wedding Philosophy

Natural feeling, natural Image, natural moment.  For over 20 years Wallace has continued to create cutting edge photo essays of the wedding day. His magazine-like images feature color, black and white and sepia toned images.

I got interested in wedding photography when I realized that many people preferred a looser, more natural, candid style of photography for their wedding photos. Most wedding photographers do a very traditional and somewhat predictable work and it seemed to me that there was a whole generation of couples looking for something new and more personal.

“As a contemporary photojournalist, I am two - the photographic artist bringing creativity to the wedding, and the journalist, trying to bring honest understanding and integrity to the photo documentation. As a photojournalist, you have to know how to read things in what's happening. You observe and decide what will make an image, think fast, otherwise you've lost it! I always photograph people the way they want to appear, on a simple assumption that that's the way they are.” ......Wallace

Contemporary Wedding Photography is a natural blending of the two schools of thought. It will include the classic shots of the traditionalist and the story telling of the photojournalist. Images will have a more candid, natural feel to them. The posed shots will be less formal and not as numerous. Quality contemporary wedding photography is a little harder to find, but the more personalized finished product we provide, will be the difference in your album.

A Documentary of a Day

Wallace believes in the personal approach to images which documents the feeling of the moment without being intrusive with the camera. Usually it is necessary to pose certain shots if only to assure that the right people are in the right shot at the right time, but they don't always have to look stiff or predictable. He will suggest and lead when appropriate, but primarily settle into the background for a photojournalistic style.  The professional state-of-the-art digital cameras, together with detailed composition create a timeless documentary of your day that visually happens in front of the camera, lasting for generations. Your event happens only once. There is no other chance to "re-create" from the event if an image is missed.  By providing a large inventory of memorable images, you are assured he has covered your event with all that is available! In addition, since all of your images are included in our pricing structure, our clients find real value in the amount of images we shoot- because they keep them!
